Well, you have to have friends! A new poll shows Americans think “Friends” is the best TV show ever.
The study, which was paid for by YouTube TV and done by OnePoll, found that the popular NBC sitcom starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer was the best of the best.
From a list of 35 famous TV shows, the two most watched are both from the 1990s: “Friends” (43%) and “Seinfeld,” which was created by Larry David (40 percent ).
Three out of four people said that no matter how they feel, they always stop watching their favorite TV shows.
People will also stop watching “Game of Thrones” on HBO (37%), “Three’s Company” from the 1980s (36%), and “Frasier,” which was a spinoff of “Cheers” and starred Kelsey Grammer (36%).
Thirty-six percent liked “The Office,” another NBC show that helped make stars. And 35 percent picked “MASH,” a comedy set during the Korean War.
A new poll, which came out on January 31, showed that nearly 20% of respondents think the 1980s and 1990s were the best centuries for TV.
Only 7% of people think that the time we live in now is the best time for TV.
“It’s not shocking that so many people still love and watch old TV shows,” said Kimberly Taylor. Who is in charge of product communications for YouTube TV? “It’s nostalgic and comforting to watch an old favorite show. But we’re just as excited about all the great live TV now.”
The survey found that 45 percent of people still have VHS or DVD recordings of their favorite TV show episodes. While 37 percent said their favorite show is no longer on the air. And 21 percent wish they could go back to watching them live on TV or in person.
