Even though Jennifer Aniston has been on the show Friends for 10 years, she said that she discovered something today from the reunion show last month.
In the HBO Max special, which aired May 27, the Morning Show star, 52, learned something she didn’t know before.
If Matthew Perry didn’t get that laugh, “I didn’t understand the level of anxiety and self-torture that was put on him,” she said this week on the TODAY show.
That’s not all, though. Jen said that the situation “makes sense.”
This is what Matthew told us about during our reunion. When he played Chandler on Friends, he would sweat and “go into convulsions” if the studio audience didn’t laugh when he made fun of them.
When they didn’t laugh, he thought he would die because that’s not good.
He said: “If I didn’t get the laugh I was supposed to get, I would freak out.”
Co-star Lisa Kudrow said, “You didn’t tell us that then.”
Jennifer threw a few bombs at her while filming the show. She told us that she and David Schwimmer almost had sex in real life, too. As David said, this is how it works. “It was like two ships passing each other at some point. One of us was always in a relationship, and we never crossed that line. We were grateful for that.”
Jen said, “So, we just put all of our love and adoration for each other into Ross and Rachel.”
Many people thought the two didn’t get together. Jen talked about that this week on the Howard Stern Show. She told everyone, “No, I would be very proud to say that I hit Schwimmer if that happened to me. That’s not true.”
As she told TODAY, this is what she said “She said, “I think there was something about unrequited love and investing in those relationships.” She said David, and she loved each other and still do, so she thinks something was that. People can relate to the person they never had or wanted to be with, but they couldn’t get it together. You were investing in something very real.”
