How I Met Your Mother was a long-running sitcom that starred Josh Radnor, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jason Segel. The show aired on television for almost ten years. Throughout that time, it aired close to 200 episodes. Josh Radnor is the actor who portrays the role of Ted in the show. He tells his children the story of how he met their mother. All the actors had great chemistry with each other. They were supportive, but Alyson Hannigan did not want to kiss Jason Segel on How I Met Your Mother.

Reason Behind It

Lily and Marshall did a lot of kissing throughout the seasons. But fans don’t know Lily wasn’t pleased because of Segel’s bad habit. Jason smoked a lot. And during the first few seasons, he would even smoke between takes on the set. Hannigan admitted that it wasn’t easy to go through the scenes.

“I cannot stand cigarette smoke. It’s like kissing an ashtray, and he’s trying to be polite by having gum or mints, but it doesn’t help. When we started the pilot [for the show], he was like, ‘Get me to stop smoking; I’ll be your best friend.’ So we bet he would owe me $10 every time he had a cigarette. After the first day, he owed me $200. So he said, ‘I’m just quitting,’ and he quit cold turkey for about a year. It was fantastic, but he got stressed out and started smoking again.”

Despite that hiccup between the two, Segel and Hannigan got along remarkable, and we can say the same for the rest of the cast. Even though there won’t be a reboot of the show, fans can look forward to a spin-off or take a trip down memory lane and watch the old episodes, which are currently available to stream on several different platforms, including Netflix.
