13 Times “Friends” Taught Us The Most Important Life Lessons
1. That you should always, always, ALWAYS separate your whites from your reds.
2. If you ever get stung by a jellyfish at the beach, you can thank Joey, Monica, and Chandler for teaching you what to do. Though they’d appreciate it if you never spoke about it afterwards.
3. That other people’s opinions of you shouldn’t matter as long as you’re having fun. Like when Phoebe told Rachel she shouldn’t care about how she looked when she ran in front of people because she was never going to see them again.
4. It’s okay to have a late start in your career, like Rachel, who spent years as a waitress before she figured out what she wanted to do in life.
5. And it’s okay to not have a plan. Sometimes it’s okay to not even have a “pla”.
6. Also, it’s never too late to follow your passion. Like when Chandler left his successful but boring job to pursue advertising.
7. You should do the things you love, even if you’re not the greatest at doing them, like Phoebe and her music!
8. There are no pros and cons when it comes to love, and even if you do try to list them out, make sure you don’t get caught like Ross.
9. If you’re ever planning to go on a break with your significant other, make sure both parties are on the same page, because otherwise it could end up in an argument that lasts a decade!
10. Setting boundaries is important, even if it means not sharing your food when you’re out on a date!
11. Love means compromise, whether it’s dealing with long distance when your partner gets a new job, or watching shark videos to accommodate their weird fetishes!
12. You can turn any difficult time into a funny story, like when Ross’ constant divorces turned into a running joke among the gang.
13. And by far the most important lesson we’ve got to thank Ross for, is no never wear leather pants on a first date!
