Friends has been an evergreen sitcom for almost two decades now. The American sitcom portraying six very reckless and goofy friends navigating their lives in New York became a comfort show for many. The six characters were Chandler, Phoebe, Monica, Joey, Ross, and Rachel, with each bringing their unique take to the show. With the sitcom going on for 10 long seasons and 236 episodes in total, their adventures within their four walls and the coffee shop added a dose of comfort to us. The relatability of the show made it a roaring success and a pioneering sitcom, to begin with back in 1994.
And this prophecy told by the director of the show to the six lovable characters turned out to be a real truth, much to their delight and the status they hold in the industry as one of the most successful sitcoms in history.
The producers of the show, Kevin S. Bright, Kauffman, and Crane, began on the pilot episode and went through three name changes.” Adding to this, he said that he knew the show would take off and be a hit among the masses. And as we all know, this turned out to be spot on.
Finally landing on Friends, the first episode aired on September 22, 1994. The director of the show, James Burrow, made a very interesting prophecy even before the pilot episode aired on television. According to Insider, the director said “This is your last shot at anonymity. Once the show comes on the air, you guys will never be able to go anywhere without being hounded.
The director took all six members of the cast on a trip to Las Vegas because deep down, he knew this would be their last public outing without being recognized in public. The fans made sure they knew how much they loved the cast by instantly making their followers count hit the roof within an hour.
Sweetly enough, the show’s cast members maintained their friendly relationships both on and off-screen, despite differences between our Chandler and Joey actors. They entered the same acting award categories and had humble backgrounds before the sitcom happened to them.
Jennifer Aniston started with very humble beginnings, supporting herself with part-time jobs.
